Dragon Boat Festival, We Make Zongzi By Ourself.
- Jun 19, 2018 -

Duanwu Festival, or more commonly known in the West as the Dragon Boat Festival is one of the grandest festivals in China and is celebrated every 5th day of the 5th lunar month or around June in western calendar. This year, it falls on June 18. The most anticipated part of the festival is watching the heart-stopping race of elaborately decorated boats shaped in the form of dragons.

Zongzi (粽子zòngzi) is the most traditional Dragon Boat Festival food. It is related to Qu Yuan commemoration, as the legend says that lumps of rice were thrown into the river to stop fish eating his drowned body.

They are a kind of sticky rice dumpling made of glutinous rice filled with meats, beans, and other fillings, wrapped in triangle or rectangle shapes in bamboo or reed leaves, and tied with soaked stalks or colorful silky cords. The flavors of zongzi are usually different from one region to another across China.

In order to enjoy the atmosphere of the Dragon Boat Festival and celebrate this great festval, we make Zongzi by ourself. At that moment, we are not feeling like a professional person who do Bluetooth headset. Hhhh... We enjoy the life.
